Transfer Pumps & Diaphragm Pumps

Diaphragm Pumps

Diaphragm pumps, also called double diaphragm pumps, are used in many different industries. They are efficient and extremely versatile, appropriate for fluids from food grade clean water to acids to slurries and many of the most viscous substances. They are also relatively inexpensive due to their simple design and operation.

How They Work

A double diaphragm pump is a positive displacement pump. It uses two diaphragms in and out to fill the pump chamber with fluid and then push it out. When the diaphragms move away from the chamber, it lowers the pressure of the chamber and fluid rushes in. When they push back into the chamber, they increase the pressure and the fluid flows out.

The fluids flow through one-way check valves, ensuring that fluid only flows in the proper direction through the chamber.

The SHURFLO electric diaphragm pump range spans 5 distinct product families providing extensive possibilities in flow, pressure, material combination, voltage and control options to meet a wide variety of OEM and specialty applications. Compressed Air operation and on/off control, variable flow rate, self-priming, dry running ability, chemical resistance all become available in a compact package with SHURFLO air operated double diaphragm pumps
